Arcola students grades 7-12 and has nearly 4,000 books and materials. The jr./sr. high school library is open to students 7:45 to

Library Policies for Junior/Senior High School Students 1. Students may check out up to 5 books at a
time for 4 weeks each (unless he/she has overdue books or fines.) Students
who have very overdue books, or late fines more than $2 will not be allowed to
check out new books until resolving their outstanding late fines or overdue
books. 2. Students may use the library during study
hall or homeroom with a pass from their teacher. Students must bring work
to do, or may read quietly in the library. 3. Students should
keep their voices down so as not to disturb others. If the Library Media
Specialist has to ask a student to quiet down more
than once, he or she may be asked to leave the library. 4. When in doubt,

Accelerated Reader
Accelerated Reader (AR)
is a reading program used by students grades 2 through 12 to boost reading
ability. A student reads a book, and after completing it, takes a short
quiz on the book. The student receives instant feedback on their quiz
score, and the student's teacher is able to view quiz results and track reading
progress. Most of the books in the elementary and jr. high/high school
library have A.R. quizzes, but some do not. Click the link below to find
out if a book is AR.
