I want to thank everyone for their continued support of the Arcola School District. Families have been doing a great job of being proactive in keeping students home that are sick. As a result, we have seen a significant decline in the number of cases at school and a decline in the number of individuals being quarantined.
After the long weekend, please continue to be cautious when sending the students back to school following break. Many people may be exposed to other individuals over the holiday so if the student is exhibiting symptoms at all, please keep them home until you get a negative test result or alternative diagnosis from a doctor. We all need to work together to keep each other safe.
If you recall, the Arcola School District decided last week to move to a weekly report of positive covid cases at school. The first two lines represent individuals that were confirmed positive to the school (the school was notified this week they were positive) and were in the building the prior week during their “exposure period (48 hours prior to symptoms)”, which caused the district to contact trace at school. The last two lines represent individuals that were confirmed positive to the school (the school was notified this week they were positive) and were in the building this week during their “exposure period”, which caused the district to contact trace at school.
No students were quarantined for being in close contact with the positive case at school.
Here is the data for the week of 11/23 – 11/24:
Situation | # of Cases |
Number of positive individuals that were in Arcola Elementary School the prior week that led to contact tracing. | 0 |
