AHS students in civics are learning about bills in Congress by writing their own. Each bill attempts to create a change in the school that would benefit everyone.
The judges have spoken and todays winners for Tacky Tourist Day are the Seniors: Braedyn Edwards with the coconut bra, Rosa Hardin and the sunblock on her nose, and Jordan Melton who was very original and brought a Polaroid.

Did you know there is a TeacherEase app that can keep parents and students informed on grades and attendance. Recently TeacherEase updated their app to include push notifications. Please read the message below from TeacherEase.

In our latest release, we upgraded the iOS TeacherEase parent/student app to receive notifications when events occur in the system (grade is entered, student is marked absent, announcement is sent, etc). Users stay updated without needing to login. To receive notifications, install the TeacherEase app and enable notifications. This release builds upon recent updates allowing the mobile app to stay logged into TeacherEase. After initial login, users can access the app with pin, fingerprint, and/or faceid authentication. If you’re still using Safari on iOS, we’d suggest installing the app -- it’s much more convenient.

Former NFL player from the Chicago Bears and motivational speaker, Ray McElroy was at Arcola High School this morning. Among other topics, Ray spoke on peer acceptance, academic excellence, achieving dreams, and consequences of their choices. Mr. McElroy did an amazing job interacting with the students and keeping them engaged.
