Great time tonight at the Big Ten Tournament with the AFS kids. Exciting game!

A big shout out to the Libman Company of Arcola as sponsors at the Big Ten Tournament!

Woo-hoo! We have flights and a hotel for tonight, and a plan! Life is good!
Our plan: - Tonight we'll take the kids to dinner and then to the Big Ten Tournament at Madison Square Gardens. - Tomorrow, Natural History Museum and Central Park. We'll head to the Newark airport tomorrow around 2:30pm after lunch. Then, fingers crossed, we're home tomorrow night in Arcola by 10:30-11pm. Whew! The kids have learned a lot this trip, just ask them!

Parent update #2,
I just got off the phone with Southwest Airlines. As of now, our flight is on time as scheduled.
To clarify the weather conditions we're looking at for NYC & Newark tomorrow:
- Precipitation 1-2", mainly rain
- Temps in the 30s and 40s
- Winds around 25mph with gusts 40-50mph
The precipitation forecast is not the issue; it's the wind gusts that might cause cancellations.
The Southwest agent suggested we wait until the morning and call back to see how the flights are looking. She did not seem to think cancellations were imminent. If the weather looks like it might lead to cancellations, we will try to get an earlier flight.
The main thing for you to know is that we are south of where the Nor'easter is going to cause the most problems, like in Boston.
I will update you in the morning. I am optimistic that we will be able to stick to our schedule.
Meanwhile, we are getting ready to head to dinner in Times Square at Carmine's (Italian, family style dining). The kids have mentioned more than once they are loving the food here!
